Jeffrey Roy Holland is an American educator and spiritual adviser. He served as Brigham Young University’s ninth president and is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
Elder Holland Wife “Patricia Terry” Passed Away
Patricia Terry Holland is the wife of Elder Holland. She died suddenly and peacefully on July 20, 2023, at the age of 81 after a brief hospitalization. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced her passing on Thursday, July 20, 2023 afternoon and funeral plans have not yet been finalized.
Her most well-known roles were serving as a counselor in the Young Women General Presidency from 1984 to 1986, serving as president of the Relief Society four times and serving as Brigham Young University’s first lady when her husband served as the institution’s president.
Patricia Holland was born and raised in southern Utah, where she attended Dixie High School and later married. Before attending the Juilliard School in New York City, she attended the LDS Business College and Dixie College, which is now Utah Tech University.
The couple wed in June 1963; they are parents to three children and thirteen grandchildren. Their offspring include novelist Mary Holland McCann, David Holland, John A.
Bartlett Professor of New England Church History at Harvard Divinity School and Matt Holland, a former president of Utah Valley University and a General Authority Seventy of the church.
