Boz Scaggs is well known American singer-songwriter and guitarist. Scaggs was born on June 8, 1944, in Canton, Ohio, but was reared in Texas. His musical career began when he joined the Steve Miller Band in the 1960s. Fans want to know about his health updates, so in this post we will discuss his illness.

Boz Scaggs’ Influence on Music History

On June 8, 1944, William Royce “Boz” Scaggs was born. He was Steve Miller’s first bandmate in both The Ardells and the Steve Miller Band.

Scaggs started his solo career in 1969, but he didn’t have a big hit until his 1976 album Silk Degrees which peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 and yielded the smash singles “Lido Shuffle” and “Lowdown”.

With Down Two Then Left and Middle Man, two additional albums by Scaggs that were declared platinum, the top 40 songs “Breakdown Dead Ahead” and “Jojo” were recorded.

He took a break from recording and performing for the most of the 1980s, but he resumed in 1988, joining The New York Rock and Soul Revue and launching the nightclub Slim’s, which was a well-liked San Francisco music venue until it closed in 2020.

Scaggs is credited with aiding Toto’s creation. He personally selected the musicians for his 1976 album Silk Degrees after soliciting recommendations from a number of sources. David Paich, David Hungate and Jeff Porcaro were these musicians.

The trio had previously been close friends and frequently collaborated on other albums including Steely Dan’s Pretzel Logic.  Going on tour with Boz Scaggs cemented the idea of forming a band. A contract “without audition” was extended to the new group by Columbia after recognizing their talent.
