Madonna Back Home From The Hospital Following A'Serious Bacterial Infection' According To A Source

Madonna is no longer in the hospital, but she is still getting better from a bacterial infection that put her in the intensive care unit and forced her to cancel her international tour that was supposed to start in July.

A source close to Madonna, 64, says  that she is “back home and feeling better” as of June 29. On June 28, in the afternoon, a source told NBC News that she was out of the ICU and getting better.

Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, posted on Instagram on June 28 that the singer had “developed a serious bacterial infection that led to a several-day stay in the ICU.” This was the first time anyone heard that she was sick.

Here is the instagram post:

“Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care,” Oseary said at the time. “A full recovery is expected.”

“At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour,” he added. “We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

“Any illness or condition caused by bacterial growth or poisons,” says the Cleveland Clinic, “is a bacterial infection.” The Cleveland Clinic says that these kinds of infections can also start “anywhere” in your body.
