After ID’s three-night run of The Curious Case of Natalia Grace closed on May 31, the network announced that it would air a follow-up titled The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks. Documentary series that detailed the circumstances surrounding Michael and Kristine’s purported adoption of an adult they believed to be a Ukrainian orphan aged 6.
In the sequel special, Natalia will be able to tell the story from her perspective.

Natalia was adopted as a baby, but the filmmakers of the three-part documentary claim she has displayed alarming behavior ever since. In addition to Michael’s accυsations that Natalia tried to poison Kristine’s coffee and push her into an electric fence, he also claimed to have caught her “standing at the foot of [his] bed with a knife in her hand” one night.
The Barnetts filed a petition with the Marion County Probate Court to modify Natalia’s birth year from 2003 to 1989, three years after they adopted her in 2012.
Michael and Kristine took their three biological sons, Jacob, Wesley, and Ethan, and left Natalia, a former orphan they said they could no longer care for, behind in Lafayette, Indiana, in 2013. Despite their divorce, the Barnetts have persisted in their accυsations against Natalia.
In Indiana in September 2019, both ex-spouses were charged with many charges of child neglect despite having Natalia’s age officially changed.
