“The Little Mermaid” Set to Make a Splash With $125m-Plus Memorial Day Box Office Debut

The Little Mermaid, which made $38 million on Friday, May 26, is outpacing the competition at the box office for the Memorial Day weekend.

The live-action adaptation of the classic animated movie from Disney is surging to a better-than-anticipated $125 million+ opening, ranking it as the fourth-biggest Christmas opening of all time, unadjusted for inflation.
