Police in Germany have opened a criminal investigation against Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters after he performed in Berlin last week while clad in a costume simulating a Nazi uniform.

Pink Floyd’s “The Wall,” released in 1979, is a concept album in which the protagonist has a delusion that he is a fascist dictator and Waters wore the outfit while performing songs from the album. integrating a legendary performance of the album in Berlin in 1990, Waters has been integrating the satirical act in his solo shows for at least 30 years.

However, it appears that a crἰminal probe into his performance was only opened this week by the German government. Waters is being investigated for alIeged incitement following two concerts on May 17 and 18 in Berlin, according to Jennifer Bähle, a spokesman for the Berlin Police Department, who confirmed the investigation on Friday, May 20.

She stated:

“We have received information from the public including pictures and videos which, according to the external appearance, are suitable for fulfilling the offense of incitement to hatred.”

Berlin police told, “a criminal investigation procedure regarding the suspicion of incitement of the people” (140 Paragraph 4 of the German Criminal Code) has been begun by the State Security Department at the Berlin State Criminal Police Office.

It goes on to explain that:

“The context of the clothing worn is deemed capable of approving, glorifying, or justifying the violent and arbitrary rule of the Nazi regime,” which “violates the dignity of the victims and thereby disrupts public peace.”

After the investigation is complete, the matter will be sent to the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office for a legal evaluation, the police statement said.

Waters blasted the German Bundestag’s 2019 decision to label the pro-Palestinian “Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions” (BDS) campaign as antisemitic in a Facebook post dated May 20. Waters has been an outspoken supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement and a critic of the Israeli government’s treatment of the Palestinian people.

You know about the fan following of Taylor Swift. She is one of the highest-following female singers who has so many followers. Taylor Swift recently had her concert in Philadelphia. Check more details about her concert:

The Jewish community in Frankfurt has planned a demonstration to protest his appearance there. It is on this date that the notoriously anti-Semitic Roger Waters performance will take place.

The Jewish community said:

“On this day, the concert by the musician Roger Waters known for his anti-Semitic stage shows and statements, will take place. We do not want to stand by idly when a well-known anti-Semite and conspiracy theorist is given a stage in Frankfurt.”

Next week, Waters is scheduled to perform in a number of UK cities, including Birmingham, Glasgow, London, and Manchester, as per his tour schedule.

Waters remarked, “I can be allowed to do a show because it’s theater darling,” in a podcast interview with Katie Halper that was released on May 6. Obviously, the idea that no one should ever wear a Nazi uniform on stage or in a film is absurd.
