Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow are crυcial to the success of the Brooklyn drill and the New York drill in general. Before the style spread beyond Brooklyn and the East Coast, these two rappers were at the forefront of what would become a major movement.
They kept making headlines with an increasing number of releases throughout the years, but they ran into some legal trouble that has slowed them down recently. Both Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow have been in pris0n since June of last year, in 2021.
Sleepy Hallow and Sheff G maintained their dominance of the rap scene through a series of releases while they were behind bars. Sleepy Hallow released singles like “Marie,” while Sheff G released From The Can, a 12-song collection that featured guest performances from Sleepy Hallow, A Boogie, and others.
They have also, despite being incarcerated, been pushing their Winners Circle label. Once Sheff G and Sleepy go back to the house, you can bet they have some serious plans in the works.
Home sweet home for Hallow Sleep. Sheff G disclosed that Sleepy Hallow had been freed from pris0n after serving seven months for a firearms chἀrge arising from an arr*st in February 2022.
The “Die Young” rapper was shown in a video he posted on Instagram celebrating his release from pris0n by popping open a gold bottle. A “[Sleepy Hallow] home,” as Sheff G captioned the clip. “Free me, free the guys,” I’ll say next.
In New York City, Sheff G was arr*sted for vi0lating the terms of his bail and possession of a firearm in the second degree. The rapper was arr*sted and is scheduled to appear in court in August 2021. Two months later, he pleaded guilty to the allegations and the judge sentenced him to two years in pris0n.

Hopefully, in the next several months, Sheff G will be able to join Sleepy Hallow. Fans are eager for new music even though they have maintained a hip-hop presence even while behind bars. Maybe Sleepy will drop a freestyle version of “First Day Out” soon.
