Sassanachs, Droughtlander is far from over. Even though “Outlander” will be canceled once Season 8 airs on Starz, fans still have two premiere dates to look forward to.
Starz released a teaser for season seven on December 23, 2022, giving fans a taste of what to look forward to and promising the usual doses of romance, action, and prescient dreams. This time, it was Jamie who saw a vision, which may have foreshadowed trouble for Jamie and Claire in the future.
Jamie reveals to Claire in the preview that he had a dream in which they were bathed in artificial light. “I had another dream,” he explains. A radiance surrounded you. However, neither candlelight nor firelight was present. That’s what I imagine electric light to be like, at last.
Fans will recall that Brianna and Roger initially learned about the couple’s tragic end in a fire thanks to a newspaper piece. Jamie’s dream might be hinting at that, but nothing is guaranteed with Jamie and Claire on this show, so don’t hold your breath.
A further fire on the Ridge was hinted at in a trailer released on May 11 for the upcoming season, which takes place further into the Revolutionary War. Jamie remarks in the voiceover, “I’m not as brave as I was before,” which is intercut with scenes of warfare, Briana giving birth, and Claire hanging by a noose. An emotional Claire can be seen in the trailer at one point walking behind a wooden coffin.

Then, on April 6, 2022, the official “Outlander” Twitter account posted a behind-the-scenes first look at season seven, tweeting:
“The cast and crew are back at it — #Outlander Season 7 is in production!”
The tweet was accompanied by a photo of Skelton, Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and Richard Rankin all in costume. Heughan got in on the fun too, posting a silly picture of his own.
“Wait!!! Is that @Outlander_STARZ season…. 7!?!?!? yazzz,” he tweeted along with a picture of the four actors laughing on set.
