Last March, Kouri Richins’ spouse was discovered dead at the foot of their bed. She informed the investigators at the time that she had just closed on a home for her company. She handed her husband Eric Richins a Moscow Mule c0cktail in their Kamas, Utah, bedroom at around nine o’clock.
Around three in the morning, she went to bed with their son in his room before returning to discover her husband lying on the floor, cold to the touch, she told the police. “Are You With Me?” is a children’s book that Richins published on the anniversary of the day her spouse pἀssed away and is about coping with bereavement.
But according to authorities, she used a fἀtal quantity of illegal fentἀnyl to kἰll her spouse of nine years. She was accυsed of three charges of possessing a prohibited substance with the intent to distribute as well as three counts of aggravated muɼder this month.
In recently made public court records, a series of illegal fentἀnyl purchases in the months before his deἀth were described.
Court documents say Kouri Richins reportedly acquired the pills from a friend named C.L. The Richins celebrated Valentine’s Day with an in-home dinner a few weeks prior to her husband’s pἀssing.

As per of autopsy and t0xicology report, 39-year-old Eric Richins overd0sed on fentἀnyl and pἀssed away. A medical examiner determined that he had almost five times the fatal amount in his system.
His wife’s phone as well as numerous PCs from their house were taken by investigators after securing a search warrant. According to court filings, they found conversations between Kouri Richins and C.L., who had a lengthy police record that included drυg-related offenses.
Between December 2021 and February 2022, according to C.L., Kouri contacted C.L. and requested prescription painkillers for an investor. According to court filings, C.L. claimed they bought hydrocodone and placed the pills at a house Kouri was flipping so they could pick up the money left there for them.
On February 26, around two weeks later, she allegedly contacted C.L. to request additional fentἀnyl pills. They were abandoned by C.L. beside a fire pit outside the residence where the hydrocodone had been delivered. Once more, the cash was left for pickup. Court records state that Kouri Richins no longer owned the property at this point.

Kouri Richins Passed Away Six days After the Claimed Pill Delivery
On March 4, 2022, at around 3:30 in the morning, EMS staff and Summit County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive man at the couple’s residence.
Emergency personnel attempted but failed to revive Eric Richins. It had been six days since the newest claimed delivery of pills.
His wife provided detectives with her account of what transpired that evening. She gave him a beverage in bed as the couple celebrated closing on a house for her company. The boy was “having a night terror,”as Kouri Richins, who said she left him in the room and went to sleep with one of her three sons in his room.
“The defendant said that she awoke at three in the morning and returned to her and Eric’s bedroom. Eric was chilly to the touch when she felt him. According to court documents, the defendant dialed 911 at that time.
According to reports, Kouri Richins admitted to leaving her phone plugged in next to her bed rather than taking it to her son’s room.
Her three young sons assisted her in writing the book, which she said was done so they could express their emotions. Kouri Richins was detained in connection with her husband’s deἀth weeks later. May 19 is the date of her detention hearing.
