The Orange County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Olympian Tori Bowie was found deἀd at her residence by authorities after they were contacted to check on her. They said that there is no evidence of wrongdoing.

According to the police, officers went to her Bowman Drive house on Tuesday 2 May, in the afternoon to “conduct a well-being check of a woman in her 30s who had not been seen or heard from in several days.”

Bowie, real name Frentorish ‘Tori’ Bowie, was located and identified by deputies after they had entered the house. According to the department’s statement, Bowie had been “found deἀd” inside. There were “no signs of foul play,” according to the agency, but any additional details regarding the manner of Bowie’s pἀssing “need to come from” the medical examiner’s office.

The three-time Olympic sprint medalist’s pἀssing was announced on Wednesday 3 May, morning via a social media message from her management organization.

In the 100-meter relay at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Bowie assisted the United States in taking home gold. At the 2016 Olympics, she took home silver in the 100-meter sprint and bronze in the 200-meter. She helped the United States keep its gold medal in the 100-meter relay while also taking home the gold in the 100-meter race at the IAAF World Championships the following year.

Following her three medals from the 2016 Olympics, Mississippi declared November 25 to be “Tori Bowie Day,” an honor she referred to as “special” and “humbling.”

Bowie admitted to The Hattiesburg American at the time, “I’ve never even thought about anything like this.” Like back in Sandhill, they actually have a sign, that reads ‘Tori Bowie Lane,’ just when you pull inside [the campus at Pisgah High, her alma mater.
