The Apple TV+ series followed Josh (Keegan-Michael Key) and Melissa (Cecily Strong), a married couple trying to escape Schmicago, a more sinister and provocative version of Schmigadoon with no happy endings.
While Dooley (Alan Cumming) worked to free Josh from his fictitious captivity at the hands of Sergeant Rivera (Jaime Camil), Melissa narrowly escaped being forced to wed Octavius Kratt (Patrick Page). Otto met an early deἀth thanks to a cunningly timed chandelier drop which allowed Dooley, Jenny (Dove Cameron) and Dooley’s lady love, Miss Coldwell (Kristin Chenoweth), to happily reunite.
When Josh and Melissa were at last able to return to the real world, they carried with them “A Happy Beginning” a new song and some bright colors.
When Will Schmigadoon Season 3 be Released?
There is no information on whether Schmigadoon! will return for a third season. The co-creator of the series, Cinco Paul reportedly wants to explore the possibility of a Season 3. Although it’s unclear where the network stands on the show’s renewal.
Jaime said, “I really don’t know if that’s going to happen.” However, the actor claimed that if it were up to him, Season 3 and beyond of the show would be approved. He continued:
“I’m obviously not involved in making decisions on these things. But ideally there will be a third season since Schmigadoon! is a program that undoubtedly has a lot to offer.”
Schmigadoon! Seasons 1 and 2 can be watched on Apple TV Plus. Season 3 will be released soon.
