Black Mirror Season 6

Black Mirror Season 6

The fifth season of Black Mirror created by Charlie Brooker and Anabel Jones, premiered in June 2019, marking nearly four years since the last new episodes. Booker has stated that he put off starting the new season during the pandemic because he thought it would be “too depressing” for viewers.

But finally, the Black Mirror is back with its sixth season. On April 26, 2023, a teaser for Season 6 of Black Mirror premiered on Netflix’s YouTube account.

We get to see Aaron Paul in a space station, a strange flashy smiling face, Zazie Beetz using dial-up internet, Paapa Essiedu in a white fluffy parka and plenty of technology and humanity going awry, all set to a cover of “I Don’t Want To Set the World on Fire,” in this teaser for the upcoming season.

When Will Black Mirror Season 6 be Released on Netflix?

Other series’ release dates have also been confirmed recently and in our post, we covered the latest details:

What did Black Mirror’s Creator Say about the Series?

The dark, satirical anthology has always had a dash of surprise in it, but creator Charlie Brooker admits to surprise even himself with Season 6. As an anthology series, it would be impossible to summarize a full season of Black Mirror.

Brooker has stated that the production level of this season will be significantly more cinematic with each episode being treated as its own movie. There’s no doubt that this season will be darker than the rest and that it will reflect societal tendencies toward more reliance on technology in the wake of the pandemic.

In addition, Brooker has hinted that the upcoming season will feature greater variety between episodes than ever before and new components to the series that Brooker previously swore off doing.

The show’s creator said in an interview:

“Black Mirror, I’ve always thought works best when it presents stories that are completely different from one another and consistently surprise viewers including myself. It needs to be an ongoing series that defies categorization and is always evolving.”

He continued:

“It’s intentional that the new season won’t deliver on your every expectation. To keep things interesting for myself and the audience, I started this season by purposely subverting some of my most fundamental expectations.”

He said:

“Consequently, this time we have a few new components including those I’ve previously sworn blind the show would never do to extend the boundaries of what ‘a Black Mirror episode’ even is with some of the more classic Black Mirror cliches. Even if there are wild tone shifts and more variation than ever before, each episode is still unmistakably Black Mirror in spirit.”
