Fox News and TV star Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways, the network said in a statement released on Monday, April 24, 2023. Fox said in the statement about the top-rated host which noted that Carlson’s last show was on Friday, April 21, 2023 “We thank him for his service to the network.”

The network did not give a statement about why Carlson left. The announcement comes nearly a week after Fox and Dominion Voting Systems settled their dispute for $787.5 million.

Reports said, Dominion claimed that Fox intentionally spread false conspiracy theories that the voting machine company rigged the 2020 presidential election in Joe Biden’s favor. In defense of its reporting, Fox called the lawsuit a political crusade in search of a financial windfall.

Dominion included emails, texts, testimony and other private communications from Fox News employees including Carlson that appeared to cast doubt on claims involving Dominion in court documents filed in February as part of its discovery process.

Carlson alIegedly told his producer via text message on November 8 that the Dominion charges were “absurd” as revealed in a filing by the company. Carlson’s producer texted him that day, too to share his own concerns.

According to the lawsuit, producer Alex Pfeiffer sent a text to Carlson:

“I don’t think there’s evidence of voter fraud that swung the election, The software s–t is absurd.”

Carlson continued:

“How many baIlots were fraudulently cast is unknown. Many people claim the program was manἰpulated, but we have no idea how. We have no idea. This is what we do know, but we really need find out. Our system isn’t what we thought it was especially at the highest levels. There is a lack of fairness. Far from it.”

In the petition, Carlson is quoted as saying, “False claims of fraud can be every bit as destructive as the fraud itself” and that the fraud that we can confirm does not seem to be enough to alter the election results.

We owe it to you to be forthright and inform you that, According to the documents, Carlson reportedly told one of his producers via text message in the middle of November that there wasn’t enough fraud to change the outcome of the election and later claimed that Sidney Powell.

One of then-President Donald Trump’s attorneys and a major proponent of election denialism is lying. Carlson branded Trump “a demonic force, a destroyer” in a text message to the same producer on January 6, the day of the attack on the U.S. Capital, months later.
