Who is Shannen Doherty?
Shannen Doherty is an American actress (born on April 12, 1971). She played Jenny Wilder on Little House on the Prairie, Maggie Malene in Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Kris Witherspoon in Our House, Heather Duke in Heathers, Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills and Prue Halliwell on Charmed and Dobbs in Fortress.
Doherty followed the Southern Baptist beliefs of her mother. Doherty appeared on episodes of Voyagers! and Father Murphy both of which Michael Landon authored and produced in 1982.
In the same year that Landon starred and produced Little House on the Prairie, 11-year-old Doherty earned the recurring part of Jenny Wilder. Before the show’s cancellation in 1983, Doherty had appeared in all but four episodes of its last season.
Doherty made her film debut in the 1988 release of the black comedy Heathers. Her breakthrough role as Brenda Walsh in the Aaron Spelling–created TV series Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1990 catapulted her to international recognition.
She was nominated for a Young Artist Award in 1991 and 1992 for Best Young Actress Starring in a Television Series for her performance as Brenda. After the 1994 fourth season, Doherty exited the show. Doherty hosted the first season of the Sci-Fi Channel’s hidden-camera show Scare Tactics in 2003.
Doherty played Alexandra Hudson on the short-lived TV series North Shore from 2004 to 2005 marking a return to her prime-time soap roots. The later same year, she appeared in the comedic pilot Love Inc.
Shannen Doherty Divorce
Doherty had an engagement with Dean Jay Factor in early 1993 until Doherty filed for a restraining order against Factor on May 25, 1993. Doherty wed George Hamilton’s son Ashley on October 11, 1993.
In April of 1994, she filed for divorce from him. Doherty wed Rick Salomon in 2002, but the marriage was dissolved nine months later. Doherty wed photographer Kurt Iswarienko on October 15, 2011 in Malibu, California.
