Premiering on FX on July 5, 2017, Snowfall is a crἰme drama created by John Singleton, Eric Amadio and Dave Andron. Set in Los Angeles in 1983, the show chronicles the city’s tragἰc response to the first crack epἰdemic.

Reports said, Snowfall ends after its sixth season with the premiere of “The Struggle” on April 19, 2023. It should be noted that the show wasn’t canceled, but rather ended after a sixth and final season was produced by the creators themselves.

The authors were thus free to reach whichever conclusion they deemed appropriate. FX’s President of Original Programming Nick Grad said the network is happy to have commissioned a sixth season of the program which will allow the creators to wrap things off in a dramatic fashion and showcase the show’s actors, writers, directors and crew.

Season 6 will be “heavier” and “darker” than prior seasons, showrunner Dave Andron told. He admitted that there is a lot of humor in the world that people utilize to survive day to day, even if the show has always strived to maintain a light touch.

Sadly, the story must come to a tragἰc conclusion, thus the final season will have a darker tone. The show’s last season will feature a darker tone than previous seasons which were more comedic.
