Insidious: The Red Door is an upcoming American supernatural h0rror film written by series creator Leigh Whannell and adapted by Scott Teems. The film is the chronological fifth installment in the Insidious franchise and the sequel to both Insidious and Insidious: Chapter 2.
Wilson, Andrew Astor and Rose Byrne along with Ty Simpkins all return from their previous film appearances. New cast members include Hiam Abbass and Sinclair Daniel.
Blumhouse Productions has decided to make more Insidious movies after the success of 2018’s Insidious: The Last Key and one of those movies will be a crossover with their Sinister series.
What is Insidious 5 Release Date?
On April 19, the teaser trailer for the upcoming h0rror sequel Insidious: The Red Door was revealed. You can watch the trailer provided below:
Star Patrick Wilson will make his directing debut with the fifth film which was announced in October 2020. Wilson has the full faith of returning producer James Wan who is anticipating great things from the sequel.
James told the Hollywood Reporter:
“I’m super excited for what Patrick’s doing with Insidious, Patrick reminds me a little bit of Leigh Whannell in that they are not just actors slash whatever; they are filmmakers as well. They evaluate performances with an eye toward how the finished product will look on the big screen”.
That’s useful information for them to have as filmmakers. When talented people like Leigh Whannell and Patrick Wilson express an interest in directing, I get really enthusiastic. Scott Teems penned the script for Insidious 5 which was inspired by a story by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell.
Reports said, Assuming there are no changes, Insidious 5 will hit theaters on July 7, 2023.
In August of 2022, Wilson took a snap behind the scenes to signify the end of principal photography. People thought the movie would be called Insidious: Fear the Dark after seeing this poster, however that title has since been scrapped.
