Manuel Teran Autopsy – Dekalb County Releases the Test Results!

DeKalb County has shared the results of the autopsy on Manuel Esteban Paez Teran, who was klled earlier this year while protesting the building of the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center.

There has been a lot of talk about the training center. Critics say the move is making police more like the military and putting communities in danger. City officials say the center could make policing better.

Teran, who went by the name “Tortuguita” and used they/them pronouns, was sh0t and klled by police on January 18 as they raided campsites where environmental protesters had been staying for months to protest the building of a training center that has been called “Cop City” by critics.

The autopsy that was sent to ABC News showed that Teran’s hands did not have any gunpowder on them. The police said that Teran was the one who first sh0t at a state trooper. Officers then opened fire in response.

Teran’s hands were raised during the fatal gunsh0t, according to a family-commissioned autopsy. The Dekalb County autopsy stated, however, “there are too many variables with respect to movement of the decedent and the shooters to draw definitive conclusions concerning Mr. Teran’s body position.”
