Love, Deἀth & Robots is an animated anthology series. It was created by Tim Miller. The series is created by Blur Studio, while the individual episodes are created by other animation studios from many nations and explore a variety of genres, including comedy, h0rror science fiction and fantasy.
Each episode has some connection to at least one of the three main ideas. Along with Joshua Donen, David Fincher and Jennifer Miller, Miller serves as the show’s creator and producer. The majority of the episodes are written by Philip Gelatt who primarily adapts other people’s writing.
What Happened in Love deἀth Robots’ Episode “Lucky 13”?
Lucky 13 is the thirteenth episode of Love Deἀth Robots. Lieutenant Colby received an offer for a brand-new ship after completing 10 missions in a row on “13” without much of a scratch. Following her instinct, she made the decision to continue with “13” for as long as she could.
’13’ is sh0t down by an anti-air mἰssile while on an evacuation operation but because of Colby’s talent as a pilot, she was able to crἀsh without anyone getting hurt. Colby gave the order to take cover and wait for evacuation as hostile forces surrounded the ship.
With the help of the powerful rifle on board “13” she provided the soldiers ample time to flee. But as more men encircle the ship, Colby and “13”‘s situation becomes less favorable. Colby has no choice but to leave the ship because he is out of ammunition.
Colby starts the ’13”s self-destruct procedure as additional soldiers approach their location, but she says farewell to the ship before she is forced to leave. The enemy forces start to surround ’13’ as Colby and the men are encircled utilizing her as cover and for strategic benefit.
Nothing happens while Colby waits for her self-destruction. The ace pilot understands that ’13’ is reluctant to go just yet and as more of the enemy troop take up position by ’13 Colby understands what is actually about to happen.
’13’ starts to self-destruct when you yell to get down kἰlling all the enemy. The evacuation of Colby and the crew is successful but not before the pilot picks up the wreckage of “13.” Although Lieutenant Colby has received recognition for her heroics and a new ship, there is nothing she would desire more than to fly ’13’ one final time.
We can all agree that Colby is a fantastic pilot and that the ship may have been sentient. The episode strongly implied that the ship was always monitoring and listening due to the ship’s point of view being presented throughout.
Colby was perhaps the last pilot to respect the ship; thus, the ship had little respect for the inexperienced pilots that flew her. It simply goes to show how much respect the men had for the drop ship and Colby once he took the lead that they both more than earned each other’s desire to be aboard “Lucky 13.”
’13’ was finally ready to dἰe and waited for as many enemy soldiers to encircle the spacecraft before expl0ding with Colby apologizing to the ship for having to activate its self-destruct. Alternately, the pilots had a reputation for being a suspicious group.
Therefore, Colby’s abilities as a pilot and a great deal of good fortune may have been the only factors in the missions’ accomplishments. The spacecraft was ancient and n0torious for breaking down, so it was merely a glitch that it didn’t blow up when the self-destruct procedure started and just so happened to blow up as additional enemies near them.
