The fantasy drama series House of the Dragon was developed by George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal for HBO in the United States. It’s the second TV show in the A Song of Ice and Fire series and it serves as a prelude to Game of Thrones.
For the premiere season, Condal and Miguel Sapochnik were the showrunners. The events of the series based on Martin’s 2018 novel Fire & Blood take place 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen and roughly 100 years after the unification of the Seven Kingdoms by the Targaryen Conquest.
The program which features an ensemble cast depicts the events leading up to the catastrophic conflict of succession known as the “Dance of the Dragons” that marked the beginning of the decline of House Targaryen.
After winning an award for best drama series, House of the Dragon’s official site posted the Tweet shown below.
