At the age of 84, crime writer Anne Perry passed away. When she was a youngster, she assisted in the murdeɼ of a friend’s mother. The author went to prison at age 15 for the murdeɼ of Honorah Mary Parker and stayed there for five years.
Agent confirms Perry passed away in a hospital in Los Angeles. After having a heart attack in December, she gradually began to decline during the following months.
Heavenly Creatures, starring Kate Winslet and directed by Peter Jackson, was based on the novel. Anne Perry was formerly known as Juliet Hulme; at the time she murdeɼed her best friend’s mother, she was using a different name.
Perry and her friend Pauline Parker, the victim’s daughter, planned the murdeɼ together in 1954 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Journals found by the police revealed the specifics years later.
Honorah Mary Parker was killed after she was struck by a brick on the head 20 times. At trial, the court heard that the two girls planned the murdeɼ because Perry, then 16 years old, was afraid of being separated from her best friend.
The girls hoped Parker could accompany Perry to South Africa to live with Perry’s relatives, but they worried Parker’s mother would try to prevent this.
Both girls were under the age of eighteen when they murdeɼed Parker’s mother; therefore, they were spared the deἀth penalty and instead served time in jail. Perry’s birthplace was in London, where he spent his first eight years before relocating to the Bahamas and eventually New Zealand.
She claimed on her website that she was sick a lot as a kid and had to be fostered, which caused her to miss a lot of schools.

Perry left New Zealand for the United Kingdom after her release from prison, where she briefly worked as a flight attendant. She converted to Mormonism and eventually made her home in Portmahomack, a wee town in Scotland.
The Cater Street Hangman, her debut novel, came out in 1979. She then went on to pen a series of novels that would eventually span many series and sell over 25 million copies worldwide.
