After being charged with s*xual abuse of a minor, the actor Drake Bell was sentenced to two years of probation and 200 hours of community service. Since then, Bell has remained silent about the incident but ultimately broke his silence after some time.
According to Marca, Bell discussed the matter for the first time on the Mexican television program Ventaneando. Bell said –
“I was very stupid and irresponsible.”
“Fans contact you on Instagram, but there was a girl I talked to and I didn’t pay attention to her age.”
“When talking to her, she became obsessed and when I found out her age, I cut off communication, blocked her and that upset her.”
The actor asserts that there was no s*xual assault on the girl, but he did admit to feeling guilty for flirting with a minor. He expressed regret for not knowing her age, but he understood why he was convicted.

Bell also compared his case to that of the renowned actor Johnny Depp, who prevailed in his defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Bell added –
“I would have been in trouble anyway for my irresponsible act of not knowing what I should have known, we would have had the same result, but it would have been in the press, it would have been like the Depp trial.”
“Everyone looking at it under the microscope. I had just found out my wife was pregnant.”
Before disclosing that she threatened his wife, Drake claimed that the minor attended his concert. He explained –
“She came to concerts, yeah, but you meet fans and there’s five-second hugs and kisses and autographs, but there was never any ‘extracurricular’ activity, you know.”
Some publications claimed that Drake Bell had been placed on a list of perpetrators, but he strongly refuted the claims. He noted –
“Some reports said that in California they were going to put me on the rἀpist register and none of that was true.”
“I just came from Europe, I’m in Mexico all the time and if any of the allegations against me were true, I wouldn’t be sitting here.”
“Basically it was like hitting on a girl who I didn’t know was underage. That was it.”
Drake Bell elaborated on his reasons for entering a guilty plea to charges of endangering a child. The former Nickelodeon star broke his silence about the allegations in an Instagram video, according to USA Today.
Bell said in the clip –
“Most of the news you’ve heard recently is entirely false and wrong.”
“I feel that you deserve, and I owe you, an explanation.”
“I know that this has moved very quickly for you, but for me, it’s been a three-year, thorough investigation into every false claim that has been made.”
“And, it’s not me telling you that the claims are false, but the state of Ohio has proven the claims to be false.”
“If these claims were remotely true, my situation would be very different. I would not be here at home with my wife and my son.”

In the video, Bell acknowledged his interactions were “reckless and irresponsible,” but he claimed he was “unaware” of her age and that there was no physical contact between them.
