Moana Release Date: Who Will Remake in it?

Disney’s film Moana’s live-action remake has been officially confirmed by actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He said that they were working on this new project. Does he reveal the release date of the series? Who will reprise their role and other details everything is here, what we know so far, read here.

Who Will be Remake Moana?

Johnson announced through a video that he is working on Moana’s live-action remake. Though the project is not completed yet, he shared a video for his fans and Moana’s audience. 

“I’m deeply humbled and overcome with gratitude to bring the beautiful story of Moana to the live-action big screen,” Johnson stated.

“This story is my culture, and this story is emblematic of our people’s grace and warrior strength. I wear this culture proudly on my skin and in my soul, and this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reunite with Maui, inspired by the mana and spirit of my late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, is one that runs very deep for me.”

Though he is the producer of the series, you can watch him reprising his character in the series. Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia also join the film with their Seven Bucks production banner, Flynn Pictures Co. also presented there by Beau Flynn.

Auli‘i Cravalho will be the executive producer. Jared Bush screenplay writer and Scott Sheldon also join the production to remake the series including Samoan industry pro-Dana Ledoux Miller. 

Moana Remake Release Date

It will be remade at fans’ demand as it gets positive reviews, and Disney+ streams this series in the U.S. When it was released in theaters in 2016 grossed $644 million and won two academy awards. 

Dwayne also tweets that “Humbled to say we’re bringing #MOANA’s beautiful story to the live-action big screen!” “#MAUI changed my life (miss you grandpa) and I’m honored to partner with @DisneyStudios to tell our story thru the realm of music & dance, which at the core is who we are as Polynesian people.”

When Will The Moana Remake Come Out?

Though Dwayne did not open its release date, if it is under process now, you can get it in 2024. Its platform is also not revealed now, is it only available in theaters or Disney+ will be streaming it? The cast of the series has not been announced yet. Disney Tweet to confirm Dwayne is working on Moana:

As a producer, Auli’i Cravalho joins but she is not clear and will return as Moana as she played in 2020. “The film came out when I was sixteen and I am nineteen now. I would be more than happy to see someone else play that role, and if it were to fall to me I would do my absolute best as possible,” she said.

Till cast related announcement comes, we can expect that the previous cast will be courtyard their charters including Rachel House as Tala, Temuera Morrison as Sui, Jermaine Clement as Tomatoa, Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, and Alan Tudyk as Heihei.
