On Monday, April 10, 2023, at around 8:30 a.m., a man committed a sh00ting at the Louisville Bank. Further information on the sh00ter’s motivations and background is provided in this post.
Who is Connor Sturgeon?
Reports of police in Louisville said, Connor Sturgeon is the suspect in the Monday, April 10, 2023 morning sh00ting at the Louisville Bank on East Main Street.
Authorities said the sh00ter started firing at the Louisville Bank in the heart of the city at about 8:30 a.m. As several workers were having a morning meeting before the bank opened to the public, he began fἰring.
Bank manager Rebecca Buchheit-Sims told that she had watched the meeting remotely and seen her coworkers murdeɼed. Friends and family of Sturgeon including Buchheit-Sims have expressed shock at the vἰolence that has prompted a major police response in the heart of one of America’s most populous cities, telling that they were surprised by Sturgeon’s intelligence.
But the sh00ter’s previous writings suggest he had trouble fitting in before joining the Bank staff and he was on the verge of being fired when he entered the bank with a weἀpon.
As per the reports of law enforcement official briefed on the case, Sturgeon had been employed by the bank for over a year. He broadcast the whole thing live on Instagram, but the footage is no longer available.
Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel, chief of police for the metropolitan area of Louisville, Kentucky stated he had no prior involvement with law enforcement. Joshua Barrick, Juliana Farmer, Tommy Elliott, Deana Eckert and James Tutt were named by authorities as the five victims, all of them were between the ages of 40 and 64.
Elliott, a senior vice president at the bank is reportedly tight with Governor Andy Beshear. Nickolas Wilt, a 26-year-old police officer who had graduated from the police academy only 10 days prior was one of eight others injured.
Reports said that Wilt was transported to the hospital for brain surgery after being sh0t in the head following a fight with Sturgeon early on April 10.
The law enforcement official claimed that Sturgeon had informed his parents and a buddy that he planned to sh00t up a bank. The source does not specify whether the note was handwritten or electronic or whether it was read before or after the occurrence.
Sturgeon worked as an intern at Louisville, Kentucky’s Old National Bank for three consecutive summers (2018, 2019 and 2020) before being hired full-time in June 2021. Instagram deleted the live stream of the incident shortly after it was broadcast.
The footage is currently in the possession of the police. Police spokeswoman Gwinn-Villaroel expressed hope that they could have the livestream footage removed. Dr. Gwinn-Villaroel:
“I will say this that the suspect was live streaming and unfortunately that’s tragic. To know that that incident was out there and captured”.
Bank manager Buchheit-Sims told, It’s been said that Sturgeon was monotone in personality. His demeanor is unremarkable. The kid never shows any public signs of anger or frustration. He seemed to be completely at ease.
