The film “Echo Valley” now has Domhnall Gleeson in the lead role. The Apple Original Films project, directed by Michael Pearce (winner of a British Academy Film Award) will star the 39-year-old actor alongside Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney.
The movie is being produced by Sir Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss and Kevin Walsh and the screenplay was written by Brad Ingelsby. Moore will play the role of horse trainer Kate Garretson, who is still reeling from a personal tragedy and spends her days at the remote Echo Valley Farm in Pennsylvania.
Claire (Sweeney), her wayward daughter, shows up at her door late at night, all bloodied up and scared. Gleeson plays a local crἰminal who intrudes on Kate’s life and causes chaos by revealing private information about her loved ones.
The Irish actor previously featured in the Star Wars sequel trilogy as the antagonist General Hux and says that being involved in the iconic sci-fi franchise was a ridiculous privilege.
Speaking at the premiere of ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ in 2019, Domhnall said:
“It’s a ridiculous privilege to be a part of something that means something to so many people. It’s something you want to do all the time, but you know it has a slim chance of actually coming together; so, when it does, you know it’s something special.”
Domhnall was already a fan of the ‘Star Wars franchise before he was cast, but he described his experience of acting in the films and attending their premieres on the “big screen” as a “bigger deal” than his initial exposure to the franchise.
The Harry Potter actor said:
“Yeah. I’d seen them all, but honestly what changed it for me was seeing it on a big screen. So that was kind of that was a bigger deal for me than the first time around.”
