At the tender age of 19, she signed her first major record contract with ‘Black River Entertainment’ in 2013. She released her first country music single, “Love Me Like You Mean It,” in October of 2014. The song was composed by Kelsea, Josh Kerr and others.
When the single topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart, Kelsea made history as the first female country singer to ever do so while signed to an independent label. Her first album, titled “The First Time” came out in May of 2015 and its lead single, “Love Me Like You Mean It” was an instant hit.

She recorded with Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw and Keith Urban, all of whom are huge in the country music industry. She went on a tour as the main act to publicize her first record. In 2017, she was the recipient of universal praise.
At the beginning of 2017, she announced her second studio album and dropped the album’s lead single, titled “Legends”. Legends topped out at number 10 on the “Hot Country Songs” chart and number one on “Billboard Country Airplay”.
