Blue Beetle Trailer Released

The first trailer for Blue Beetle, from Warner Bros. and DC, has finally come. On Monday 3 April, a trailer for the upcoming film Scarecrow and Mrs. Finch was released, giving viewers their first look at the film’s protagonist, Jaime Reyes, a recent college graduate who acquires superpower armor after an encounter with an alien scarab and must learn to accept his new abilities while also discovering the truth about why the scarab was sent to Earth.

In the comics, El Paso, Texas serves as the setting, while the movie will take place in Palmera City, a made-up city.

Angel Manuel Soto and Gareth Dunnet-feature Alcocer’s film features Xolo Mariduena, who played Johnny Blaze in Cobra Kai. Jaime Reyes’s family plays a significant role in the film, making it the first DC film to feature a Latino superhero.

“The family aspect to this movie and the character is inherent in the comics and so special,” Mariduena said to The Hollywood Reporter last year. To paraphrase the director, “I feel like that side of being a superhero hasn’t been tapped into a ton.” “The family we’ve been able to construct in the movie — the mom, dad, uncle, sister, grandma”

In addition, Blue Beetle is one of the three pre-James Gunn and pre-Peter Safran DC pictures that have yet to be released. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom comes out on December 25th, while The Flash is set to premiere on June 16th.

Gunn and Safran are developing their own DC slate, so the future of those brands is unclear. Although the executives’ original intentions did not include features known to star those characters, they have stated that nothing prevents them from doing so.

Originally planned as an HBO Max film, Blue Beetle received a theatrical release upgrade from Warner Bros. in late 2021. On August 18th, it will happen.
