Jodie Turner-Smith isn’t making her comedic debut with Netflix’s Murder Mystery 2. “I wouldn’t say it’s my first comedy,” the 36-year-old British actress tells this week’s issue. White Noise has comedic elements, and many years ago I starred in a short film titled Lemon, which was directed by Janicza Bravo.
She insists, nonetheless, that this is a big deal because “this is my first entrée into the Jenifer Aniston and Adam Sandler film universe of comedy.”
She responds, “I adored it” when asked about how she was treated in that realm. I’ve already let everyone know that I want to host the next one.
Turner-Smith portrays a very dubious Countess in the film. The performer recalls, “She was so much fun.” When asked about her performance, the author said, “I enjoyed leaning in that c—-y-ness and being so over the top, but still really grounded because that’s who she is”.
“I’m a lot sweeter and kinder, I think, than the Countess. I prefer to tell people wonderful things and build them up, whereas she is immediately displeased,” the actress behind the colorful persona said.
The actress is currently on her 10th acting anniversary, proof that being polite and skilled can lead to success.
She laughs and calls it “an instant success” that lasted for ten years. In 2013, she made her acting debut on the HBO series True Bloods. She reflects on her time in the industry, saying, “I was just trying to figure it out. I was not that successful as a model. I thought, ‘I live in Hollywood. I should be presenting myself for acting jobs.'”
For example, when asked about his experience working on True Bloods, he said, “It was one of those things where I submitted myself and it turned into this four-episode recurring thing. And so it was like this moment in my life where I was like, ‘This is what happens when just throw that out there.’ And here we are. It’s just so incredible to me.”

Turner-Smith is busier than ever, both on and off screen, thanks to her new role as wife (to the 44-year-old actor) and mother (2-year-old daughter) of the couple. And she is overjoyed with how things have turned out.
To paraphrase, “I had no idea what route I was going to go in or what would become of me,” she continues, “but I just thought I have nothing to lose and everything to gain by just trusting.” Netflix now has Murder Mystery 2 available to stream.
