Happiness at last for Zach Shallcross! The IT executive proposed to the emergency room nurse on the season finale of The Bachelor on Monday, March, 27 night.
Kaity’s feelings for Zach deepened during Monday’s season finale as she got to know his family. Although Kaity was still worried about Zach’s relationship with Gabi, she decided to tell him how she really felt: “After tonight it’s not even a question, I am so in love with you, Zach.”
Kaity told Zach again how she felt on their final date of the season. She said:
“I’m very crazy about you, very in love with you and I hope I can be someone that makes you happy for the rest of your life.”
Despite her ongoing anxiety, Kaity declared, all my walls are gone the morning of the final rose ceremony. As Zach eliminated Gabi Elnicki as his runner-up, Kaity showed up and gave a heartfelt statement. She said:
“I didn’t think it could be me that I could experience a big love, a love that you only read about in books, that you only see in movies, I built my walls up so high that I couldn’t see past them, and then you stepped into my life”.
“Zach, every moment that I spent with you, my walls came tumbling down… I’m so in love with you. I’m so crazy about you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Zach agreed and told Kaity:
“I can no longer say I’m falling in love with you, because, Kaity Lane I am so in love with you. You are my world.”
He said:
“The love I feel for you is something I could never have imagined and something I feared I could never deserve for a very long time. Honestly, I adore you. With every beat of my heart, I love you”.
“You’re the first thing I want to see when the alarm goes off. For the rest of my life, I want to be with you. Kaity, I hope to spend the rest of my life with you. I don’t want anyone else besides you… How about we get married, Kaity?”
Kaity said yes right away to Zach’s proposal and promptly returned his last rose. The engaged couple appeared happy as they shared their love story during the episode’s live portion. When Zach finally realized that Kaity was the one for him, Kaity told host Jesse Palmer first. “We’ve been longing for this moment for so long”.
Zach said:
“When I saw her at the last chance date, I saw her and I thought to myself, It’s you. It’s always been you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you,'”
Kaity said that she and Zach were able to work through the difficulties at the Fantasy Suites because of how well they were able to communicate with one another.
They both previously called Austin, Texas home, and Zach then announced that he and Kaity will be moving there this summer. But, the wedding plans have been put on hold for the time being. He said:
“This whole process was very accelerated, very quick and right now we’re just excited to be together, go to the restaurants, go to the coffee shops, the little things, But we have talked about it and we’re thinking about in 2025. We’ll see what happens after that with little ones.”
