In 2019, Hussle was sh0t and k!lled outside of the Los Angeles apparel business he had co-founded. In 2018, Eric R. Holder Jr. was convicted guilty of first-degree murd*r in the case.

The man convicted of murder in the 2019 sh0oting dea†h of rapper Nipsey Hussle in Los Angeles was given a sentence of 60 years to life in prison.

Last year, 33-year-old Eric R. Holder Jr. was convicted of first-degree murder for k!lling Hussle outside of the clothing business he had started, The Marathon Apparel, in the same South Los Angeles neighborhood where both men had grown up.

According to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, Mr. Holder was given three life sentences: one for murder (25 years to life), one for using a firearm (25 years to life), and one for shooting two other persons on the same day (ten years each).

Mr. Holder’s public defender, Aaron Jansen, did not immediately return a message seeking comment on Wednesday. Mr. Holder was unquestionably the sh0oter. Mr. Holder was recognized by multiple witnesses, including Mr. Jansen, as the man who opened fire on Hussle with two handguns, wounding the rapper at least 10 times before kicking him in the head.

Nonetheless, Mr. Holder’s defense team argued at trial that the prosecution overstated its case. After an exchange in which Hussle allegedly brought up reports that Mr. Holder had collaborated with police authorities, Mr. Jansen stated that the deadly sh0t was not intentional and had occurred in the “heat of passion.”

Members of the jury appeared to agree with Los Angeles County prosecutors after deliberating for less than an hour on a second day that Mr. Holder had decided to k!ll Hussle after the two spoke as he returned to a car, loaded a gun, took a few bites of French fries, and then marched back through the parking lot to confront the rapper.

Mr. Holder was convicted guilty of murder, as well as two charges of assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter for the shootings that left two bystanders w0unded.

Hussle, whose given name was Ermias Joseph Asghedom, was mourned by his fans because he was an accomplished artist and businessman who had outgrown his days in the local Rollin’ 60s Crips gang.

About 20,000 people, including Stevie Wonder and Snoop Dogg, attended his public tribute in April 2019 in Los Angeles.

Hussle was not a mainstream hitmaker, but he was celebrated as a hero in his hometown and became a celebrity after working independently in the music industry for 15 years prior to the release of his 2018 album “Victory Lap.”
