How did Sondra Locke end up Passing Away?
Cardiac arrest is caused by breast and bone cancer, according to Locke’s dea†h certificate. Her untimely demise, at age 74, was only reported in the middle of December.
The Outlaw Josey Wales, released in 1976, marked the first of many films co-written by Locke and Eastwood. Eastwood took center stage, with Locke portraying his on-screen sweetheart Laura Lee. Locke was nominated for an Oscar because of the film’s success.
As time passed, it became one of the most financially successful westerns ever. In 1978, they released their second album together, Every Which Way But Loose. Locke played the lead female role of Lynn Halsey-Taylor alongside Eastwood in the film. This movie did much better than its predecessors, becoming the year’s second-best earner.
In 1980, they teamed up again for the highly successful sequel Any Which Way You Can. Sudden Impact, the fourth film in the Dirty Harry series, starred both Locke and Eastwood in 1983. Locke portrayed Jennifer Spencer, the film’s female protagonist, and the movie went on to be a box office smash in 1983. In 1984, Locke portrayed a nun in the film Ratboy, for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Makeup.
The Gauntlet (1985) and The Dead Pool (1986), the fifth and last film in the Dirty Harry series, both featured her as a leading actress. In 1968, with The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Locke made her debut in the film industry. The picture launched her successful career and garnered her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
