This weekend on CBS’s “48 Hours,” viewers will see the first interview with an Alabama man convicted in the shooting dea†h of his wife in 2017. Tiffiney Crawford was discovered dead in the driver’s seat of her van on May 2, 2017, at the couple’s Cullman home. She had been sh0t twice in the head, although authorities initially believed she had committed su!cide.

She raised her own children, helped raise her stepchildren, taught preschool, and established a successful local support organization for mothers called Mothers Helping Mothers.

After an investigation by the SBI of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, her husband Jason Crawford was indicted a year later. Since Jason Crawford’s mom is a sheriff’s deputy in Cullman County, ALEA was called in to look into Tiffiney Crawford’s dea†h.

On November 18, 2022, four months ago, a Cullman County jury found Jason Crawford guilty of first-degree murd*r. He received his 99-year prison term on March 10, 2023.

On Saturday night’s episode of “48 Hours,” viewers will hear from detectives, attorneys, and Tiffiney Crawford’s best friend and mother, as well as see body camera footage from when deputies arrived at the couple’s house.

According to Jason Crawford’s confession caught on camera, the two were arguing when police arrived. I was entering the home when I heard a gunshot, a scream, and then another gunsh0t.

It seems like suicide to me,” a deputy is overheard saying to his/her supervisor on the phone. Tiffiney Crawford was unresponsive in the driver’s seat of her van when deputies arrived at the house that night. Even though she was right-handed, she was holding a gun in her left hand.
