There has been some confusion over Shawn Mendes’s relationship with Sabrina Carpenter, so he’s addressing the matter head-on. In an interview with the Dutch television show RTL Boulevard, the Grammy nominee was asked if he was dating the “Nonsense” singer to which he said, “We are not dating”.
Although they did not walk the red carpet together, Mendes and Carpenter were both spotted at Vanity Fair’s Oscar celebration on Sunday, March 12. Some of his followers even thought that the emerald green David Yurman jewelry he wore was a tribute to Carpenter’s birthstone.
Upon inspection, it was discovered that he’s been sporting the necklace for quite some time. They were seen on a stroll in Los Angeles last month, clearly enjoying each other’s company.
On March 9, they were photographed leaving Miley Cyrus’ album release party for Endless Summer Vacation together. Mendes has been linked to Camila Cabello before. After the June 2019 publication of “Seorita,” they went public with their relationship.
A dog named Tarzan was acquired by the couple while they were quarantined in Miami during the pandemic and the two remained together the entire time. A joint statement was sent to their Instagram story on November 17, 2021, announcing their breakup.
Shawn Mendes and Sabrina Carpenter said in a statement:
“Hey guys, we’ve decide to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as human is stronger than ever. We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward Camila and Shawn”.
