Singletary passed away suddenly on the morning of February 12, 2018, at his home in Lebanon, Tennessee. The circumstances of the death were kept secret. Posthumously, in the fall of the same year, a song named “She’s Been Cheatin’ on Us” was published by Platinum Records Nashville.
The company claimed that the song’s revenues would go to the singer’s family, but a spokesperson for the singer said that this was not the case and that the track was a demo that was never intended for release.
