Amy talked about something very personal on the Bobby Bones Show. She is getting a divorce from her husband, Ben.
The decision was not made quickly. For the past few years, they have been trying to figure out what is best for everyone involved and what is true to who they have become.
And most of all, the health of their children. They went to couples therapy to figure out how to handle this situation best, and their main goal has been to learn how to co-parent and be the best co-parents they can be.
The news that Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are reportedly divorce-talking shocked fans of country music around the world. Despite being married for almost a decade and having collaborated on several critically acclaimed albums and projects, they may soon divorce for irreconcilable reasons:
Amy said that she is very proud of how her family has dealt with this. She said that talking about it isn’t easy, but that she feels like now is the right time to share it and put it out there so that she can be herself in this new part of her life. She said that you can never really know what someone else is going through.
They wouldn’t be where they are in this process without the love and support from their family and friends, who have walked with them without judging and given them encouragement and support, as well as the wisdom and advice from therapists.
She said that divorce brings up a lot of complicated feelings, with shame being the most common one. They’ve been working on putting it out, and now they feel like they’re both ready.
Amy wanted to share this so that anyone else going through this kind of loss would know they are not alone and could let go of any shame they might be feeling.
She said it was a very hard time, but she finally feels like she’s through it and that they’re both better people because of it.
She’s learned the most about being strong from this, and in the end, she and Ben are a team. They’ve always been there for each other and their family with love and support.
