There were two men at the Oscars who shared the same name: the Daniels. The Oscar-winning directing team of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert are both named Daniel. Their picture, “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,” won the top prize during the ceremony.

Who is Daniel Kwan’s Wife?
Kirsten Lepore is the wife of Daniel Kwan. After winning the Academy Award for best original screenplay, Daniel Kwan paused to thank his wife on stage. He said:
“My wife, who protects me every day from the most negative thoughts I have, especially when I’m writing”.
To everyone’s surprise, it turns out that Daniel’s wife is also a creative type working as an animator and filmmaker these days. Short films like “Move Mountain,” “Bottle” and “Sweet Dreams” are under her direction.
She has also directed a few short films and done animation work on a variety of other projects including Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.
In addition to her work as a writer and director for the animated series I Am Groot, Kirsten was a visual effects artist on Everything Everywhere All at Once.
She began life in South Brunswick, New Jersey, then moved to the West Coast to earn her Master of Fine Arts degree from CalArts. They’ve been married for at least six years, and it’s obvious they’re very much in love with each other.
Daniel revealed his affection for Kirsten in an Instagram post published shortly after their 2016 wedding.
Because winning an Oscar is so out of the ordinary, Daniel made sure to mention his son during his acceptance speech. Daniel said during his speech:
“You rearrange my DNA every day and it’s awful and beautiful every single time. If you ever watch this, I hope you know that you should never to live up this standard, this is not normal, this is kind of crazy. I will love you no matter what”.
