It has been widely speculated that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will attend King Charles’ coronation on May 6. This is due to the fact that the couple has received an invitation to the event. They have not yet issued a formal confirmation.
On May 6, 2023, King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla will be crowned at Westminster Abbey in London. The former palace butler, however, claims that Prince Harry would attend his father’s coronation ceremony without Meghan Markle because she has the courage to do so.
Prince Harry will not be accompanied by Meghan Markle to King Charles’s Coronation, according to Paul Burrell, a butler for both Charles and his late wife, Princess Diana, as well as the Queen, as reported by The Mirror.
By inviting Harry and Meghan, Burrell says, “the King has preserved the moral high ground,” and “the ball is well and well in their court.” According to the 64-year-old, it would be awkward for both of them to see their extended family again, especially Meghan, at the coronation.
His second reason for Meghan not going is that “she’d have to look in the eyes of a family she’s driven under the bus,” which is why he doesn’t think she’s strong enough to go.
“But I think Harry may come alone and she’s probably told him she won’t be able to be by his side with him if he does attend,” he said as quoted.
Another Royal commentator Dr Ed Owens recently told The Express that if Duke and Duchess of Sussex attend the coronation ceremony, “they will have no control over how this event plays out, the Royal Household will have complete control over this event.”
He also stated that there would be a very tight schedule of rehearsals and that every aspect of the event, from the flow to the roles of the numerous performers, will be well organized.

Harry writes in his memoir Spare that he and his siblings asked their father not to wed his second wife, Camilla, the future queen consort. Harry calls Camilla “the other lady” and a “wicked stepmother” in his book.

He also used promotional interviews to reiterate his assertions that Camilla, William, and the royals’ staffers all leaked negative information about him and his American wife Meghan to the tabloids for their own reputational gain.

Several royal experts have also speculated that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would make the Coronation of King Charles into a “soap opera” if they attended.
Their primary interest in attending, they indicated, would be financial, and they expected the pair to videotape the event with that goal in mind. And they would definitely film it. They would make it into some type of monetary event,” royal commentator Neil Sean had told Fox Business.
