The Best Picture Award Goes to “Everything Everywhere All at Once”

Oscar-winning “Everything, All at Once” features a plethora of simultaneous events. “This honor is ours,” producer Jonathan Wang accepted on behalf of the film’s creators. Thank you very much for your help, A24. You put up with our oddness for an entire year. Wow, that’s fantastic!

When everyone had left, Daniel Kwan spoke to the microphone to express gratitude.

‘We’ve said enough tonight,’ Kwan concluded—many thanks to everyone here. I’ve been motivated by all of you. When I was a kid, I learned that protecting each other from the dangers of the outside world is a great way to show that we care. I appreciate the writers and readers who helped me get there.

The other films that were considered for this award were “All Quiet on the Western Front,” “Avatar: The Way of Water,” “The Banshees of Inisherin,” “Elvis,” “The Fabelmans,” “Tár,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Triangle of Sorrow,” and “Women Talking.”

Brendan Fraser’s performance in “The Whale” earned him an Oscar. An obviously moved and astonished Fraser opened his acceptance speech by praising the film’s director, Darren Aronofsky, for giving him “a creative lifetime” and “hauling me aboard the good ship ‘The Whale.'”

He said, “Things — they didn’t come easily to me, but there was a facility that I didn’t realize at the time until it ended.” He then reflected on his career in the entertainment world, which he began 30 years ago.

Austin Butler for “Elvis,” Colin Farrell for “The Banshees of Inisherin,” Paul Mescal for “Aftersun,” and William Nighy for “Living” were the other actors nominated in this category.

Each nominee was making their Oscar debut.

And females, don’t believe anyone telling you you’ve passed your prime.

In addition to Cate Blanchett for “Tár,” Ana de Armas for “Blonde,” Andrea Riseborough for “To Leslie,” and Michelle Williams for “The Fabelmans” were all nominated for the award.

Best Director Goes to Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert

Oscar winners for best director went to “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,” which was directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. The brothers and sisters who work in film and television and are known as the Daniels individually gave their victory speeches to their parents.

Scheinert expressed gratitude that his creativity had not been stifled when he was a child and made “very scary horror pictures” or “extremely twisted comedy films” or “dressed in drag,” none of which posed a threat to anyone.

Kwan acknowledged his parents for their contributions to his development as an artist and film buff. The other directors up for the award were: Martin McDonagh (The Banshees of Inisherin), Steven Spielberg (The Fabelmans), Todd Field (Tár), and Ruben stlund (Triangle of Sorrow).
