While married to Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith had an affair with singer August Alsina. The 48-year-old actress admitted that she had a relationship with Alsina 4.5 years ago when her marriage was struggling and she was separated from Smith with the intention to divorce.
On her husband Will Smith’s Facebook Watch series, ‘Red Table Talk,’ Jada Pinkett Smith revealed, “I started a friendship with August and we actually became really, really good friends” and went on to say that she sought out resources to aid the musician’s mental health because she wanted to see him through a difficult time in his life.
During his monologue, the actress stated:
My entanglements with August took a new turn. There was definitely a connection there. I experienced severe discomfort. As a result, I was severely depressed. I learned the hard way through that relationship that you can never satisfy your own happiness needs by relying on another person.
Alsina is not a homewrecker, she said, but she and Will are mending their relationship in a very different way. The rapper claimed that Will gave his blessing to the couple, but the couple has since refuted that.
The singer August initiated the drama by claiming he had an extended affair with Pinkett with Will Smith’s approval. The singer claimed to Angela Yee, co-host of “The Breakfast Club,” that he and Will discussed Will’s wife while promoting his new album.
They were accused of having an affair in August of 2011, but Jada’s representative quickly released a statement to People denying the allegations.
She said:
“Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports. The rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together and our marriage is intact.”
During an interview with Gayle King on CBS Sunday Morning, Will put to rest any lingering doubts about whether or not they had cheated on each other.
Will Smith said:
There’s never been infidelity in our marriage.… And we have never surprised one another with anything ever.… I have decided that chatter about my life can be of benefit to people.

It appeared that things had settled down between Will and Jada after their Red Table Talk, as evidenced by Will’s statement to his wife: “I could love you through anything.” A source said, “At the end of the day, they do love each other,” so it seems like everything worked out for the couple after all the rumors and the interview.
Jada then declared that she was finished with relationships during a red-carpet interview at the SAG Awards.

After Jada’s alopecia diagnosis, Will cut her hair short in a low fade and Chris Rock made a joke about Jada being “G.I. Jane” Will famously slapped Rock. Will strode up to the mic and smacked Chris across the face.
Will continued by saying, “Violence in all its forms is poisonous and destructive,” apologizing for everything that had happened. After his divorce from Sheree Zampino, Jada and Will tied the knot in 1997; on December 31, 2022, they will celebrate their silver wedding anniversary.
Will and Jada tied the knot in 1997 and since then they’ve raised two children: a son, Jaden, now 21, and a daughter, Willow, now 19.
