MLB Major League Baseball will soon have its own video game, The Show 23, developed by San Diego Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment (MLB).
There are a lot of exciting new beginnings this time of year and one of them is the start of the new MLB season and the release of MLB The Show 19. This week was the first time all year that The Show has made a number of major announcements about their upcoming baseball game including the cover athlete, release date, pre-order editions and much more.
What is the Release Date of MLB The Show 23?
On March 28, 2023, you can purchase either the Standard or Collector’s Edition of MLB The Show 23. The price for the previous generation console will be $59.99, while the price for the current generation will be the standard $69.99.

You’ll be able to buy MLB The Show 23 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox One S and Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, you can’t play it on a personal computer, but maybe that will change with a sequel.
Developed by Sony’s first-party San Diego Studio, the MLB series was PlayStation-exclusive for a long time. On the other hand, MLB The Show 21 was the first installment for Xbox with subsequent entries being available for Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

The trailer of The Show 23 was released. The main one showcases the big reveal of cover athlete Jazz Chisholm Jr. Even though the trailer doesn’t feature much actual gameplay but it’s still interesting to watch.

What are the New Editions of MLB The Show 23?
Storylines: A New Game Experience is a new playable mode coming to the game. We’ve set this mode to concentrate on the Negro Leagues. Eight players from the Negro Leagues, including Jackie Robinson, Buck O’Neil, Satchel Page, Rube Foster and more will be featured in the mode.
In addition to the Standard Edition and the Captain’s Edition, MLB The Show 23 has also revealed a Digital Deluxe Edition. The Captain and Digital Deluxe editions are part of the Collector’s Edition which also includes Derek Jeter (Hall of Fame Shortstop for the New York Yankees) as a bonus feature.
Pre-orders of both The Captain and the Digital Deluxe edition will feature Jeter on the cover. Jeter was a guest on The Show with Jimmy Fallon on the night that the Collector’s Edition was unveiled and the Standard Edition was announced alongside the cover athlete.
