A Father of five hasn’t been seen in more than a week. Search teams are still looking for him, and a reward has been set for his safe return.
Nathan Millard, a 42-year-old executive from Covington, Georgia, was last seen on February 22 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he was on a short work trip. His family hasn’t heard from him since, and they are very worried.
Millard’s wife Amber told 95.5 WSB –
“I’m heartbroken.”
“It’s a nightmare that I want to wake up from. This is my worst nightmare.”
On Saturday morning, people who were looking for Millard met at the Watermark Hotel in Baton Rouge, which is only two minutes from Happy’s Irish Pub, where he was last seen.
The search party was led by the United Cajun Navy, a group that does search and rescue work for free. Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul, the City of Baton Rouge’s water search and dive team, and other partners in community outreach helped them.
Officials say that the father of Allie Rice, a student at Louisiana State University who was killed after going out with her friends in September 2022, has also joined the search.
After looking for Millard for about a week and a half and not being able to find him, Texas EquuSearch, a volunteer search and rescue group, is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who can find the missing dad.
Founder and director of Texas EquuSeach Tim Miller said –
“The reward is in hopes of getting some leads on this case so we can bring some closure to the family.”
Thursday, the group joined the search for Millard, trying to find the dad in a four-block area where police think he went missing.
The last time Millard was caught on camera was in the afternoon of February 22. He was leaving the hotel where he was staying, the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Baton Rouge.
He went to an LSU basketball game and then to a bar with a client later that night. The dad, who works in construction, was seen at Happy’s Irish Pub, which was only four blocks from where he was staying at a Courtyard Marriott.
He was reportedly in town to meet with the client and look at a site for a future project. Around 11:30 p.m., he left to go back to his room, which is less than a two-minute walk away, but his wife Amber says he was never seen again.
His client called when they were supposed to meet the next morning at 8 at the job site. At 9 a.m. local time, there was still no sign of Millard, so the client went to the hotel to ask for a check on his health, Amber told 11Alive.
The hotel staff said that his room was empty and looked like no one had slept there. His wallet and phone were found a few blocks away from the hotel, but no one has seen the dad since.
Millard’s friend Matt Still said that the missing man’s family told him that police showed them video of someone using the missing man’s debit card.
Still told Fox News Digital that the family was told by the police that the card had been used several times after he went missing.
Amber said that the first transaction was a cash withdrawal, and the last one was on Saturday night, just before the card was frozen. Still said –
“They haven’t provided any footage.”
“Or any information other than that.”
Amber, Millard’s wife, said that she FaceTimed him at the basketball game to show him where their seats were. Amber Millard told 11Alive (aforementioned) –
“It was not anything I ever thought would be my last call.”
Amber has talked about how she is trying to keep her hope up during this hard and uncertain time.
“My mind has been going nonstop, but I can’t let my mind torture me, and I’m just turning it over to God and prayer.”
“He’s a loved man, a great man and we need him. We want him home.”
Millard has two teenage boys from his first marriage, two teenage stepsons from his second marriage, and a seven-year-old daughter with his current wife.
