Whitney Adeniran, a female student at Chrisland High School in Ikeja, Lagos was 12 years old when she passed away. Her mother has now revealed the tragic news that her daughter died of an electrocution.
On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, she made her announcement in a live video on Instagram. She thanked everyone for supporting her.
She said that the electricity killed my daughter. During the past two weeks, I have been through a lot of stress. My infant died three weeks ago tomorrow. I thought I was going crazy at school.
People started insisting that she actually was sick and looked sickly. They disseminated literature by way of mail. People were rude to me and my loved ones. The electricity killed my kid.
I’ve already informed the administration that I don’t wish to cause any trouble at school. To put it simply, I need explanations. They came over here and got on their knees.
She said:
“I begged, I pleaded, I said ‘Mrs Amao please, I don’t know how autopsy is being done but I have browsed it and the image is scary. Please my daughter is already dead, don’t make me put her through that, they will butcher her. I beg you in the name of God, you are a mother, help me investigate and find out what happened.’
The speaker claimed ignorance. They didn’t bother to conduct an investigation. My child was brutally dismembered for an autopsy. The floodgates were thrown open for her. A kidney, liver, stomach contents, blood, brain and bone marrow samples were all taken from her.
Whitney’s father, Dr. Michael Adeniran had also claimed that his daughter died of electrocution prior to the autopsy. Naija, a Media & News Company shared a Tweet in which they confirmed Chrisland’s pupil’s cause of death.

Meanwhile, the administration of the school released a statement saying that the student who later died had collapsed in “public view and not under any hidden circumstances” and that she was immediately taken to a nearby hospital.
