John Hron a 14-year-old boy, was brutally k!lled in August 1995 by a group of four young men with ties to the neo-Nazi skinhead subculture and the militant Nazi network Vitt Ariskt Motstnd.
Hron and his companion were setting up camp by a lake in Kungälv Municipality when a gang of neo-Nazis dressed in Nazi garb and blasting White Power music approached them. In a vicious “cat and mouse” game, four people battered and t0rtured Hron for hours. They kicked, punched and smashed his face in with large beer cans.
Hron was subjected to both verbal and physical abuse as the mob threw beer cans at his face and yelled at him to profess his admiration for Nazism. Additionally, a blazing piece of wood was used to burn Hron, he had his stomach stomped on, his things were destroyed, and the tent he and Christian shared was set on fire.
Hron begged his attackers to let him go, but they ignored him and pushed him into a lake while he was still alive. On the other side of the lake, two of Hron’s attackers were waiting for him in case he tried to make a break for it. Hron swam back to shore to save Christian after being threatened with dea†h if he did not return to safety.
Hron, well-known for his resistance to racism, refused and was afterward thrashed mercilessly for several hours. The group would apologize by buying him a beer, but then they’d resume beating him.
His body was rolled into the river, where he drowned. The principal abuser, 18-year-old Daniel Hansson, was convicted of murder and given an eight-year prison sentence.
On January 1, 2001, he was finally released. As a minor, Mikael Fjällholm, age 15, was also sentenced to prison, which is unusual in Sweden. For their roles in the assault and failure to report the continuous t0rture and murder, John Billing and BM, whose full name is unknown, were given sentences of ten and four months in jail, respectively.

There was a surge of anti-racist demonstrations in Sweden when the case gained widespread attention. The first annual Stig Dagerman Award for free expression and global peace was awarded posthumously to Hron. Some of the young men who carried out the murd*r had a history of mental illness and aggressive behavior, and they all had connections to violent extremist groups.
Many neo-Nazis have desecrated Hron’s grave and Daniel Hansson has been convicted of other crimes, including the abuse and beating of his then-girlfriend. We have not found any photos related to his autopsy. We have provided you with all details we got from our sources.
