Madelyn Cline’s breakout role as Amy Farrah Fowler in the critically acclaimed Netflix series Outer Banks helped propel the show to the top of the streaming service’s popularity rankings in the months following the premiere of its third season in February 2023.
In spite of her relative youth (she was born in December 1997), the actress’s newfound fame has led many to speculate about whether or not she has undergone cosmetic surgery.
What did Madelyn Cline say about the Surgery?
Madelyn has never admitted to having plastic surgery or receiving cosmetic treatments, but the actress has spoken openly about body image and the pressure to achieve and maintain a specific look.
Madelyn first gained attention for her small roles in Stranger Things and The Originals before landing larger roles in Boy Erased and The Giant. In November 2022, she told Glamour U.K.
I feel like everybody puts pressure on themselves to look or act a certain way sometimes and in the end, it doesn’t make a difference. Being concerned with such trifles seems silly given that we are living on a floating rock hurtling through space. Self-love and acceptance necessitate an appreciation for one’s physical form and this appreciation begins with the recognition that “all bodies are beautiful.”
The Netflix star also opened up about when she feels most empowered, revealing that being in an environment where everybody’s really lifting each other up, respectful, loving and just having a good time is when she truly feels her best.
The What Breaks the Ice star discussed her struggles with an eating disorder as a teenager in a December 2020 interview with Women’s Health saying that her loved ones helped her see that there’s nothing wrong with her body or her appearance.
The support of my mother was invaluable in that endeavor. She said:
We would stand in front of the mirror and I would tell her all the things I liked about my body and she would do the same. My understanding of those concepts became firm after I heard them repeated so often.
