Who is Blackbeard in Outer Banks Season 3?

On February 23, Netflix released the third season of Outer Banks. In the episode, we got to tag along with John B. and the gang on their most exciting journey yet and see our favorite pogues get thrown through the wringer once again.

With the Pogues still marooned on the island they dubbed “Poguelandia” from the previous season, season three continued off just where season two left off (thank you, JJ). They made it through, and things looked good for a while, but that was only temporary.

Typical OBX chaos ensued as soon as the pogues left the island. Caution, regular folks who didn’t watch the entire season in the first 24 hours it was available, for there are major spoilers coming.

The third season did the impossible by making the Pogues embark on their most dangerous treasure search yet. Fresh adversaries, such as Carlos Singh, who never gave up his search for El Dorado’s hidden treasure, made life difficult for the pogues. In addition, Rafe is losing his mind and cutting ties with his father, who is on the prowl for redemption.

In a twist of fate, however, the Pogues were victorious. After two years of disappointment, they finally won the championship and started living their dreams. Set 18 months after we last saw the Pogues being honored for their discovery of El Dorado, the epilogue shows that JJ got his boat, Sarah and John B got their surf store, and even Pope went to college.

In the final episode of Season 3, the Pogues are seen celebrating their success and sharing in the spoils of their treasure. Although things appear to be settling down, John B is approached by an unknown man who invites him to uncover yet more gem in the diaries of one “Edward Teach.”

Blackbeard or Edward Teach was a genuine pirate. It is said that Blackbeard, a notorious pirate, cruised the Caribbean and West Indies in the late 1600s. The legendary treasure of Blackbeard, claimed to be worth around $12.5 million, was said to be buried in this area.

Although the existence of this treasure has never been verified, treasure seekers like John B and the Pogues continue to pursue it. Blackbeard’s treasure teaser appears to be building up a reunion for another major score in Outer Banks season four.
