Things aren’t great for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania but the drop isn’t as bad as they were feared to be. After opening to $106 million the week before it dropped to just $32 million in its second weekend. This is a 69.7 percent drop.

It’s clear that this is the final blow to the MCU and that the studio will now return to making adult dramas with s*x scenes and A-list actors. But it’s not like the runner-up was some weighty adult drama.

Cocaine Bear (with $23 million) won and it looks like it’s set up to be an M3GAN-style hit that audiences like a lot more than the mixed reviews might imply.

Jesus Revolution, a film about the hippie Christians of the 1970s who made Jesus cool opened to $15 million which is good money and a high placing in the charts for one of these churchy movies. This is a different kind of cocaine bear in the opium of the masses sense.
