Taylor Frankie Paul Charged for Domestic Abuse

Authorities in Utah announced on Friday that Taylor Frankie Paul, a Mormon TikTok influencer, was arrested last week and might face enhanced assault charges as well as an extra misdemeanor charge of irresponsible child abuse.

Assault, criminal mischief, and domestic violence in the presence of a kid were the three misdemeanor charges brought against the 28-year-old MomToker after the incident on February 17, Herriman police said.

Police said in a statement released on Friday that detectives had provided fresh video evidence to the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of felony assault charges.

“This evidence also suggests that during the incident, Ms. Paul’s minor child was injured by an action of Ms. Paul,” the statement read. “Subsequently, our investigators are also screening a misdemeanor charge of reckless child abuse with the District Attorney’s Office.”

The Post has reached out to Paul and the D.A.’s office for comment. Paul and her ex-husband, Tate, have a daughter, Indy, 5, and a son, Ocean, 2. The identity of the reportedly hurt child is unknown. Due to the ongoing investigation, police have declined to comment further.

“Ms. Paul’s status as a social media influencer has no bearing or impact on the investigation or outcome of this case. All allegations of domestic violence are investigated thoroughly and in accordance with state law and established criminal justice best practices to protect victims and ensure accountability,” the police statement continued.

“The Herriman City Police Department will not release the names or other information about the victims, their status or condition, or statements made by them during this investigation.”

In May 2022, Paul caused a stir when she admitted that she and Tate were rumored to be “swingers,” or people who swapped partners inside Paul’s limited circle of influential acquaintances. Tate filed for divorce after she admitted she had gone “too far” with someone else’s spouse.

Her later boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen told Daily Mail that he “wasn’t even allowed to speak with her” after her incarceration. According to her criminal history, she was freed from jail on a Saturday morning.

Mortensen did not provide further information, but he did say that he and Paul “didn’t argue” and that Paul “never damaged someone purposely.”

“I’m going to wait for everything to come out before I speak on it,” Mortensen added.

Among the Moms who have become viral sensations on TikTok is Paul, a member of the faith who is also a part of the MomTok community. In the months following the devastating “soft swinging” controversy, she has spoken publicly about her struggles with depression, anxiety, and dramatic weight loss.

Her Instagram account, which has 264,000 followers, has been inactive since February 7. She recently posted to TikTok, where she has 4 million fans.
