As a proud blue-state liberal I say, “Let’s do this thing, Marge!” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Bonkers has proposed a “national divorce” that would divide the country into red and blue states.
Marjorie decided that this upcoming Monday(Feb,27,2023) would be a good day to demonstrate to the world that she has no idea what the terms “homeland” or “security” mean. She is a member of the Homeland Security Committee. She might be able to explain what a committee is.

Greene wanted a national divorce so she could start dating a foreign guy she met at CrossFit. But on Tuesday(Feb 21, 2023) the pride of Georgia showed off her trademark lean-into-the-dumb approach to lawmaking by elaborating on the national divorce idea in a lengthy Twitter thread.

She started with a single pro-secession tweet and escalated into a protracted “let’s do away with the union” Twitter rant. We would immediately eliminate the need for departments like the Department of Education, according to one tweet in the thread.
Every state would be in complete control of its public school system. Every region of the country would have a unique approach to education.

Republican Utah Governor Spencer Cox tweeted, “This rhetoric is destructive and wrong and honestly, evil,” while Utah Senator Mitt Romney called Greene’s ramblings insanity. Let’s call it a day on this union of nations and start dividing up the spoils.
First, we’ll take the substantial amount of federal money red states have been getting from the taxes we pay and invest it in what Greene identified as our “government-funded Antifa communists training schools.” We appreciate your generosity.
The military will be kept by the blue states because it is technically a part of the “big government” that Greene despises, but all civilian firearms will be given to the red states.
