The development of young players in the NBA has been meteoric during the past few seasons. Even though they are still in their early 20s (or even teenagers), players like Luka Doncic, Zion Williamson, Trae Young, Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, and Ja Morant have already established themselves as All-Stars and, in certain cases, as the leaders of title contenders.
Friday night’s Jordan Rising Stars game kicks off All-Star Weekend in Salt Lake City by showcasing the league’s promising young talent. Since the fourth quarter often turned into an unplanned dunk contest, the structure has changed over the years, and this year there will be four teams led by well-known retired NBA players in an effort to increase competitiveness. The top young NBA talent will be competing in a tournament broadcast on TNT. Live coverage of the game can also be accessed on TNT’s website, but only for TNT cable subscribers. Alternatives to the aforementioned include NBA League Pass, SlingTV, and YouTube TV.

Which Team Took Part in Rising Star Game?
The three NBA Rising Stars teams will be coached by former NBA All-Stars Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah, and Deron Williams, with former Sixth Man of the Year Jason Terry in charge of the G League squad. On the 7th of February, Gasol, Noah, and Williams each picked a team of seven players from a group of first- and second-year players. Terry will lead a squad made up of players from the aforementioned G League.
Banchero was the first overall pick for Team Pau, Wagner went to Team Deron, and Joakim got Mobley with the third overall pick. Since this was a snake draught, Team Joakim selected Giddey with the second overall pick in the second round. The three squads are as follows, with players listed in the order they were selected in the draught:
- Team Pau: Paolo Banchero, Bennedict Mathurin, Jaden Ivey, Scottie Barnes, Jose Alvarado, Keegan Murray, Andrew Nembhard
- Team Deron: Franz Wagner, Jalen Green*, Alperen Sengun, Trey Murphy III, AJ Griffin, Bones Hyland, Walker Kessler, Ayo Dosunmu**
- Team Joakim: Evan Mobley, Josh Giddey, Jalen Williams, Jeremy Sochan, Quentin Grimes, Jabari Smith Jr., Jalen Duren*, Tari Eason**
- Team Jason: Sidy Cissoko (G League Ignite), Scoot Henderson (G League Ignite), Mojave King (G League Ignite), Kenneth Lofton Jr. (Memphis Hustle), Mac McClung (Deleware Blue Coats), Leonard Miller (G League Ignite), Scotty Pippen Jr. (South Bay Lakers).
