Throughout the season, fans get an up-close look at the 20 drivers and 10 teams as they battle on five continents at speeds exceeding 200 miles per hour. Season 5 of Formula One: Drive to Survive will focus on Red Bull driver Max Verstappen’s historic championship season of 2022, in which he set a record with 15 victories and helped lead Red Bull to their first constructor’s championship since 2013.
Verstappen told The New York Times that he had declined to appear in any of the show’s four prior seasons because he thought the show inflated rivalries for dramatic purposes. Even after winning his second consecutive F1 driver’s championship, the Dutch powerhouse will be a full participant in season 5 of Drive to Survive. Season 5 will also cover the final seasons of two former champions, Fernando Alonso (winner twice) and Sebastian Vettel (winner five times).
Season 5 of Drive to Survive will also feature Lewis Hamilton’s first winless season in his legendary 15-season Formula 1 career, the F1 farewell of McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo, who was dropped by the team at the end of last season and will serve as Mercedes’ reserve driver this year, and the 2022 resurgence of Ferrari thanks to intense driving from Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.
With the 2023 Formula One season getting underway on March 5 in Bahrain, when can fans of the show on Netflix expect to watch Season 5? Previous seasons have all premiered around the same time each year.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 5 Release Date
The fifth season of Formula 1: Drive to Survive will be released on February 24 as reported by Polygon.com. Eastern and midnight Pacific, offering members a chance to do some early morning binge-watching around two weeks before the 2023 racing season begins with the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
