Rebel Wilson claims she didn’t start getting in shape until after the “Pitch Perfect” movies were through filming because her contract supposedly forbade her to lose more than 10 pounds.

“I couldn’t lose a massive amount of weight because I was in the contracts for that movie,” the actress shared on Wednesday’s episode of Spotify’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “You can’t lose, I think it’s not more than 10 pounds, or gain more than 10 pounds.”

The 42-year-old actress added, “Yeah, you have to kind of stay at the weight. It’s in your contract.”

She became well-known for her role as “Fat Amy” in the films. Wilson claimed that the character “so bold and ballsy” was a joy to play and that she was not insulted by the part. Wilson countered that she had always considered “becoming healthier” in order to improve her fertility before the age of 40.

She said:

“I saw a fertility doctor, and he said, ‘You’d have a much greater chance with fertility if you were healthier.'” “Because I was enjoying such a wonderful, expanded life, it struck me very hard.”

“I went to see a fertility doctor and he was like, ‘You’d have a much better chance with fertility if you were healthier,’” she recalled. “It really hit me hard because I was living a fantastic bigger life.”

Wilson’s “re-evaluation” of her lifestyle and “slowly becoming healthier” are both direct results of the crisis. She went on to say that she hoped losing weight will help her portray a wider range of roles in films.

Release dates for all three “Pitch Perfect” films fall between 2012 and 2017. By 2020, the “Senior Year” heroine had started her “year of health” and had shed almost 70 pounds.

In 2021, Wilson claimed that her team had been against her starting her health journey out of concern for her acting profession. They asked, “Why?” If you’re asking “Why would you want to do that?” I was making a fortune as “the funny obese chick” and “that person.”

“I got a lot of pushback from my own team, actually, here in Hollywood. When I said, ‘OK, I’m going to do this year of health. I feel like I’m really gonna physically transform and change my life,’” she told the BBC at the time.

Wilson made several lifestyle adjustments in the hopes of increasing her fertility, but she ultimately had her child delivered through a surrogate. In November of 2022, Royce, her daughter, was born.

Before meeting her current girlfriend, Ramona Agruma, Wilson already knew she was pregnant. The actress, however, claims that she notified Agruma about the pregnancy after the couple had been dating for a few months and that Agruma was “just so fantastic about it.”

Ramona was present throughout the delivery. Wilson told “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper that he and his wife had seen the baby’s birth together. In June 2022, Wilson publicly acknowledged her relationship with Agruma and identified as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Wilson dismissed speculations that the couple got engaged after seven months of dating in November. This week, Wilson discussed coming out and how she was received with love and support from friends and family. However, she noted that Agruma’s family “hasn’t been as accepting.”

In February of 2021, Wilson ended her six-month relationship with Anheuser-Busch heir Jacob Busch.
